Through Leonard DiCaprio's fantastic acting, you can actually feel the pain and guilt about what he did to his wife and how it affected so deeply that affected his sub-conscious during his missions. Some people think that Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is dreaming because the top (his totem) kept spinning until the very end. Some people think that he is not dreaming because the top slowly stopped spinning right before the credits rolled. But actually, according to an interview with Christopher Nolan, the true meaning of the ending is that Cobb does not care whether he is in a dream or not. Cobb is leaving that world behind.
